The Sexton Road vineyard is located in the Sebastopol Hills of the Russian River Valley. Grapes grown here benefit from warm days, cool nights, and morning fog which helps to lengthen the growing season and retain acidity in the wine. The 2018 crop was hand harvested on October 15th and the grapes were gently destemmed into 1.5 ton open top fermenters. After a short cold soak the must was pumped over twice a day for two days then punched down manually for two weeks. The finished wine has notes of black raspberry and huckleberry with exotic floral notes of hibiscus. The mouth feel is firm yet juicy, indicating a wine with ample fruit that will continue to improve well into the future
